Weddington Hills Elementary School is an IB World School offering the PYP, Primary Years Programme. 

We offer:

• IB authorized training for all certified staff 
• A connected Programme of Inquiry featuring thirty-six units of inquiry, six per grade level, developed by teachers following the IB PYP framework
• Additional language classes in Spanish for all students
• Character development through the IB learner profile  
• Continuation of the IB Middle Years Programme for all rising 6th graders who meet the academic criteria set by Cabarrus County Schools

National Magnet School of Excellence 2023

Weddington Hills Elementary has been named a National Magnet School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America, the national association for magnet and theme-based schools. This top award is based on the school's demonstrated ability to raise student academic achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and create strong family and community partnerships that enhance the school's magnet theme.
