I am honored to lead as a Weddington Hills Wildcat.  At Weddington Hills, we will always PUT STUDENTS FIRST and strive for EXCELLENCE!  I am a Cabarrus County native and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.A. in Communication Studies and a Masters in Elementary Education.  I later on received my Master's from Queens University of Charlotte in Educational Leadership.  This marks my 11th year in CCS.  This year marks my 14th year in education and 11 years in Cabarrus County Schools.   I have been an elementary classroom teacher working my way into my leadership journey as a Behavior Coach, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal.  I am truly blessed to be the wife of Brooks and a mother to our son Tristan and our daughter Emeri.  We love spending time together having dance parties, going to the park, traveling, and just enjoying one another.   As principal, I will continue to work collaboratively with the WHES staff each day and create many memories with our students.  Please know that my door is always open to you. I look forward to seeing each of you starting at Open House and continuing our partnership throughout the school year.  I welcome your conversations and input throughout this year, keeping our students the priority of our work.  I have no doubt that we will have a successful upcoming school year as I know it will be the best one yet.

I am so excited to be joining the students, families, and staff at Weddington Hills Elementary. I’m originally from New York, obtaining my Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. John Fisher College. My family and I relocated to North Carolina in 2013 where I started my journey in public education. I obtained my Masters Degree in Special Education from Appalachian State University while I started my teaching career in Craven County. I was a special education teacher for several years before transitioning into general education. Finding my passion as an advocate for students and families, I decided to go back to school for School Administration through Western Carolina University. I began my journey in school administration in 2021 as the assistant principal in Craven County. After meeting my husband, we moved to the Charlotte area and I joined the Cabarrus County Schools family as an assistant principal at Hickory Ridge Elementary School. I look forward to meeting & working with the WHES students, staff, and community with this next chapter in my career!

I am married to my wonderful husband, Tim, and we have a sweet little girl, Brynlee, and two fur babies - Tony and Bennett. In my free time, I love to read, craft, go to the beach, and enjoy all the family time I can!
